milkey way

Milky Way in the Desert
Photo: Babak A. Tafreshi

The plane of our home galaxy, the Milky Way, seems to cascade over sandstone hills in a long-exposure nighttime shot taken earlier this month in Algeria’s Tassili n’Ajjer National Park, in the heart of the Sahara. The bright “star” at left is the gas giant planet Jupiter. A UN World Heritage site, Tassili n’Ajjer is famous for its caves filled with thousands of drawings and engravings that date as far back as 6000 B.C. Photographer Babak Tafreshi writes on The World At Night (TWAN) astrophotography website that “prehistoric skygazers surely witnessed a similar sky.”

"anatidaephobia is defined as a pervasive, irrational fear that one is being watched by a duck"

The Abduction, Juchitan, Oaxaca, Mexico, 1986

This is the first time “defloration”, as practiced in Tehuantepec, has been photographed. When a couple fears that the family of the bride will oppose their wedding (for instance, when they are too young) she is “abducted” by her boyfriend, who takes her to his parent’s home and proceeds to deflower her with his fingers. The groom’s family awaits with expectation to have the bed sheets stained with blood as proof of the woman’s innocence, but it is said that many carry little sacks of chicken blood with them to fake the loss of virginity. Graciela records the way the girl is later exhibited, adorned with red flowers and confetti, and wearing a red bandage around her head to symbolize her new condition.

Bright eyes - Haligh, haligh, a lie, haligh.

undersea

"The world's first undersea restaurant opened 5 years ago this month at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, and to celebrate the anniversary the restaurant is offering guests the chance to not only eat under the sea but sleep under it as well. The 12-seat restaurant will be converted to a private bedroom suite for two, complete with private champagne dinner and breakfast in bed.

Ithaa sits five meters below the surface of the Indian Ocean, encased in plexiglass and reached by descending a spiral staircase. The restaurant offers breathtaking views and 'fusion Maldivian cuisine' (local
cooking with a western twist), and rumor has it that over lunch the place is so bright that guests and staff have to wear sunglasses (they even keep spares on hand and offer a sunglasses cleaning service). Sounds wonderful, although I imagine seeing the sun rise while eating breakfast in bed is even better."

stay away from tibia kiddos

"The boy in the picture Gabriel kuhn (12 yo)was lent some fake ingame money from a mmorpg called "Tibia".

When he refused to pay his "friend" (16 yo) back he came to his house and sodomized and then dismembered the boy and tried to hide him in his attic but his mom came home early from work."
